Also, a number of innovative policies such as conversion of high-value patents, the market access of pioneering products, and “Chuangxinrong” scientific and technological finance products.
It is known that the ZGC Forum, founded in 2007, has become an important platform for global exchanges and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation after years of development.
This year marks the first integration of the ZGC Forum and the China Beijing International High-tech Expo (hereinafter referred to as “CHITEC”), and exhibition areas to display anti-epidemic science and technology are provided.
According to Zhang Youlin, Deputy Director and First-Class Inspector of CCPIT Beijing, based on the work deployment of Beijing City, the 23rd CHITEC will be integrated with the ZGC Forum for the first time from September 17 to 20, with the common focus on the theme of “Meet Challenge with Cooperation and Innovation” in the exhibition section of the ZGC Forum.
He said that the main activities at this CHITEC include comprehensive activities, exhibitions, promotion and trade, forum meetings, and online display and promotion. The main exhibition venue is located in China International Exhibition Center and covers an area of 30,000 square meters. The exhibition section includes 12 thematic exhibition areas for anti-epidemic science and technology exhibition, international exhibition, cutting-edge and hotspot technology exhibition, Winter Olympics scientific and technological exhibition, etc.
In the same period, there will be 9 promotion and trade fairs, 2 forum meetings, and a series of activities collectively themed “Visit CHITEC to Learn about Beijing”. In addition, the official website of the CHITEC will provide comprehensive services such as online promotion of outstanding enterprises and products, and online connection of investment attraction and cooperation projects.
Zhang Youlin said that this CHITEC will mainly focus on cutting-edge technology in key areas, the construction of national science and innovation centers, industrial integration and development, and regional open cooperation.
Concerning cutting-edge technology in key areas, CHITEC will focus on displaying cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements such as 5G communications, industrial interconnection, intelligent connected vehicles, bio-medicine, AI, and network security. An exhibition area for anti-epidemic science and technology is set up for the first time where anti-epidemic and medical equipment such as online diagnosis and treatment system and intelligent disinfection robots, as well as the latest progress in R&D of vaccines and anti-epidemic materials, will be displayed
To focus on the development of industrial integration, innovation results of technology integrated with related industries such as the Winter Olympics, culture, information, finance, and agriculture will be displayed. In the exhibition area of Winter Olympics Science and Technology hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, to center round the core of promoting the “Action Plan for Scientific and Technological Winter Olympics (2022)” and in line with the major strategic needs of the Winter Olympics for scientific and technological guarantee, a number of high-tech technologies, innovative achievements, demonstration projects, and initiatives to popularize winter sports and develop the sports industry that reflect national strength will be displayed.
A demonstration zone of high-level autonomous driving in Beijing will be built.
Kong Lei, Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and Special Responsible Person of Construction Work for the Municipal Demonstration Zone of High-level Autonomous Driving, said that Beijing would officially announce the construction of a demonstration zone of high-level autonomous driving in Beijing. “This will be an important achievement of this Forum.”
Kong Lei said that the construction goal of the demonstration zone of high-level autonomous driving in Beijing is to support large-scale operation of high-level autonomous vehicles above L4 and to be compatible with the test operation of low-level autonomous vehicles and the realization of application scenarios of the Internet of Vehicles.
In terms of construction content, high-reliability and low-latency communication network facilities, sustainable roadside perception infrastructure, high-precision map management service platforms that comply with national policies, and underlying technology-connected transportation infrastructure will be deployed; a three-level cloud control infrastructure platform of edge cloud, regional cloud, and central cloud that are logically unified and physically dispersed will be built; at the same time, combined with the deployment of infrastructure, centered on the real needs from the vehicle end, and driven by business model exploration, the project will produce high-level application scenarios such as L4 autonomous taxis, highway unmanned logistics, intelligent networked buses, and autonomous valet parking.
He said that after full consideration, Beijing chose to promote the project in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, which enjoys a good industrial foundation, a pool of innovative resources, and a flexible management system. “Small but fast steps and iterative improvement” are the approach, with an iterative cycle of 3-6 months. The follow-up construction methods and contents will be constantly modified and improved to gradually identify the best configuration relationship between the road and the cloud. Work will be advanced in the 1.0 stage (construction of a test environment), stage 2.0 (small-scale deployment), stage 3.0 (scale deployment and scene expansion), stage 4.0 (promotion and scene optimization), and a mature model, once formed, will be gradually replicated and promoted to other areas in Beijing.
At present, the stage 1.0 construction has been commenced in Beijing, with intelligent infrastructure of 10km urban roads, 10km expressways and one AVP parking lot have been deployed, forming a large-scale engineering open test platform where various transportation elements such as vehicles, roads, and clouds and transportation infrastructure are interconnected. The physical layer, the information layer, and the application layer of vehicles, roads, and clouds are connected as a whole. The possibility of participating in vehicle decision-making control by feeding roadside information is explored. The work will be basically completed by the end of the year, followed by the commencement of stage 2.0.
