Samuel was appointed as the Intellectual Property Attaché to China in 2021 and is responsible for the UK’s intellectual property engagement in China. The UK Intellectual Property Office has posted an attaché team to China since 2011 to enhance engagement on intellectual property rights and provide support to UK businesses operating in the market. Before joining the Intellectual Property Office, Samuel worked in the UK Department for International Trade on trade policy and market access issues in relation to the Chinese market. Prior to this, Samuel worked as a policy professional in the UK Civil Service across areas including energy policy, tax policy, and EU-exit implementation.
