Mr. MEI Dewen is vice chairman of China Beijing Green Exchange (formerly China Beijing Environment Exchange). He holds MBA degree from Peking University and Master degree of Finance from New York Fordham University. Mr. Mei takes positions in various institutions, including CPPCC member of Beijing Tongzhou District Committee; secretary general of Beijing Green Finance Association; director of Beijing Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Trading Service Center; deputy secretary general of Green Finance Committee, China Society for Finance and Banking; council member of China Green Foundation; Standing Member of Climate Investment and Finance Association, Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences; research fellow of Center for Eco-Finance Studies, Renmin University of China. He has served as the general manager since the establishment of China Beijing Green Exchange in 2008 until 2023. With 15 years of experience in carbon trading, investment and financing, he published many articles on green finance and carbon market. In 2021, the State Council announced in Document No. 15 to “promote the China Beijing Green Exchange to upgrade to a national level exchange that embraces the world, on the basis of assuming the functions of a national carbon emission trading center such as voluntary emission reduction, and build a green finance and sustainable finance center."
