With the comprehensive coverage of the industry’s top specification report issued by five academicians at home and abroad, Winter Olympic elements, the representatives of production, teaching, research and application in the field of hydrogen energy, and the first centralized display of hydrogen bus and the core components of the hydrogen fuel cell, Zhongguancun Hydrogen Energy Development Forum with frequent highlights was held in SINOPEC Yanshan Petrochemical Company of Fangshan District on May 21. Famous experts and scholars at home and abroad in the field of hydrogen energy, as well as industry elites from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as “carbon 3060” goal, green energy, science and technology Winter Olympics, and development of hydrogen energy industry.
This forum is one of the series of activities of 2021 Zhongguancun Forum, an important stop for Zhongguancun Forum to enter the sixteen districts, and an important measure of Zhongguancun Forum to support Beijing’s South City Action Plan, which also brings a broad stage for the vigorous development of the hydrogen industry in Fangshan District, where the industry direction is positioned as intelligent manufacturing and new materials.
Zhai Lixin, deputy secretary of the Party Group of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Zhongguancun Management Committee, and director of Zhongguancun Management Committee, Guo Yanhong, deputy secretary of Fangshan District Party Committee and head of Fangshan District of Beijing Municipality, Wang Zhe, party secretary, director and deputy general manager of SINOPEC Yanshan Petrochemical Company, and Jiang Fan, party secretary and chairman of Beijing Energy Group attended the activity and delivered speeches. Gan Yong, academic leader in the field of Materials Science in China, expert in metallurgical materials and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Suojiang, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lei Xianzhang, academician of the German Academy of Sciences and Engineering and chairman of the China (Germany) R&D Innovation Alliance, Cao Xianghong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and foreign academician of National Academy of Engineering, Peng Suping, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor of China University of Mining and Technology, Li Gang, chairman and general manager of SINOPEC Yanshan Petrochemical Company, and other industry experts and business representatives gave lectures on the development of hydrogen energy industry.
Zhai Lixin said that the municipal party committee and the municipal government attaches great importance to the success of the Zhongguancun Forum, which is an important part of the construction of the city’s “two districts” and “three platforms”, and an important breakthrough in the construction of the city’s international science and technology innovation center, and will be built into the “gold-lettered signboard” of national science and technology innovation and open development. As a globally recognized clean energy, hydrogen energy will play an indispensable role in the new round of industrial transformation. Zhongguancun Fangshan park has unique advantages in the development of hydrogen energy industry, with a number of domestic leading enterprises in the field of hydrogen energy, including Huanyu Jinghui, Sinohytec and Jingneng Technology, an increasingly mature and perfect industrial chain, and core products widely recognized by the market, especially the hydrogen bus as the guarantee vehicle for the 2022 Winter Olympics, which shows a bright business card of hydrogen energy to the world. In the future, Zhongguancun will continue to promote the development of hydrogen energy industry and the breakthrough of key core technologies by strengthening the R&D of hydrogen energy technology, strengthening demonstration and application and building a collaborative innovation platform, so as to accelerate the construction of industrial competitive advantages.
Guo Yanhong said in her speech that Fangshan District shall attach great importance to and support the gathering and development of hydrogen energy industry, steadily implement the medium and long-term development planning of hydrogen energy industry, build an ecosystem of the whole hydrogen energy industry chain, actively build a platform, create an environment, gather resources, integrate policies, and promote the integration and docking of hydrogen energy innovation industrial chain, capital chain and service chain, to provide better service and policy support for the development and expansion of enterprises, and shall deeply integrate into the functional construction of “four centers” in Beijing, especially the construction of international science and technology innovation center, so as to build Fangshan into an innovation highland of hydrogen energy industry in China.
Five academicians with prominent contributions in the fields of new materials and hydrogen energy made keynote reports at the conference, providing cutting-edge guidance for the high quality and healthy development of the hydrogen energy industry.
Gan Yong gave a keynote report entitled Some Thoughts on New Energy Development Strategy, in which he brought the forum imagination on the future of new energy development from a macro strategic perspective.
Zhang Suojiang, with the green development of hydrogen energy in the new round of industrial transformation as the starting point, gave a keynote speech named Green Hydrogen Energy Technology under Carbon Neutrality.
Lei Xianzhang, from the development trends of hydrogen energy industry abroad and the development strategies and ideas of hydrogen energy in China, shared the keynote speech named Exploring China’s Way to Achieve Carbon Neutrality -- the Reference and Thinking of Energy Reform in Europe.
Cao Xianghong, from the perspective of China’s energy structure, gave a lecture with the theme of Actively Developing Hydrogen Energy and Contributing to China’s Goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality.
Peng Suping, from the background of hydrogen energy and fuel cell development and China’s SOFC and SOEC technology progress, launched a keynote speech named Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Power Generation and Electrolytic Hydrogen Production Technology.
As a representative of the application enterprises, Li Gang shared the company’s hydrogen new energy supply projects for the Beijing Winter Olympics. According to reports, the hydrogen purification unit built by Yanshan Petrochemical Company has an annual loading capacity of 1700 tons and a hydrogen purity of 99.999%. The first batch of hydrogen produced by the company was delivered to Air Liquide Tianjin Binhai Co., Ltd. on December 16 last year. Up to now, the total amount of hydrogen produced has reached nearly 30 tons.
Fangshan District released and interpreted the results of the Development Planning of Hydrogen Energy Industry in Fangshan District
Relying on its rich experience and resource advantages in hydrogen energy R&D and production, talent reserve and supply guarantee, Fangshan District has made remarkable achievements in gathering upstream and downstream enterprises of the industrial chain, undertaking high-tech industrial projects, and building hydrogen energy supply systems such as preparation, purification, storage and transportation. At the forum, Fangshan District officially released its hydrogen energy industry development planning for the period from 2021 to 2030. According to the planning, by 2030, Fangshan District will be built into a safe, high-quality and preferential hydrogen energy supply guarantee base in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, a domestic first-class hydrogen energy supply and fuel cell vehicle high-end equipment and key materials industrialization base and application demonstration area, and Zhongguancun hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry innovation zone. In the planning, the phased quantitative targets for 2023, 2025 and 2030 are also specified in terms of hydrogen energy supply capacity, vehicle promotion scale, carbon emission reduction, industrial chain scale and hydrogen refueling station construction. By 2030, the scale of the industrial chain will exceed 20 billion yuan, and annual carbon emissions will be reduced by 700,000 tons.
Huanyu Jinghui, the “hydrogen energy supply and transportation support unit for Winter Olympics” and “key support enterprise for Beijing Winter Olympics”, is the only enterprise in China with hydrogen production and carbon extraction technology, which has undertaken the key project of the national key R&D plan of the “science and technology Winter Olympics” -- the sub-project of the key technology R&D and application demonstration of travel with hydrogen”, focusing on the construction of the whole supply chain intelligent network demonstration system of production, storage, transportation and hydrogen refueling. At present, the company has undertaken the task of guaranteeing 173 hydrogen fuel cell bus systems in Zhangjiakou, which will be tested in the early stage of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and two self-built hydrogen refueling stations have been put into operation in Beijing. At this forum, the company signed strategic cooperation agreements on hydrogen energy projects with a number of enterprises and colleges and universities.
During the activity, several academicians were also invited to plant saplings in the new material base “academician grove”, which symbolizes the “green future” of hydrogen energy industry.
During the forum, the products and technical solutions made by front-line enterprises from practical scenarios attracted the attention of the participants, especially the hydrogen bus and eight core components of hydrogen fuel cell for the service support of the 2022 Winter Olympics, which were exhibited for the first time in the whole country.
In the afternoon, three sub-forums including “Technology Leading Energy Transformation and Hydrogen Energy Development of Yanshan Petrochemical Company”, “Green Hydrogen Development under Carbon Neutrality with ‘Science and Technology Winter Olympics, and Travel with Hydrogen Energy’”, and “Hydrogen Energy Equipment and Industry Forum” were held at the same time. The representatives of industry, university, research and application of hydrogen energy related fields exchanged and discussed on the practical application environment of hydrogen energy and the transformation and industrialization of research and development results with the development of hydrogen energy technology as the starting point and the science and technology Winter Olympics as the application scenarios.
